Playground Twist

I found out what the mystery red and green leaves I picked up in the supermarket cos they looked so pretty are by searching for indian food sites. This one did the business and provided a recipe for Amaranth - also specialising in dishes from Andhra Pradesh means they should be hot. My version didn't look like the piccie, but then I only put two chillies in. The girl in the Big Bazaar who has looked totally gormless and denied the existence of flour and baking powder so far was easily able to satisfy my request for Tur Dal, and indeed surpassed my greatest expectation by telling me what the names of all the other pulses were just before I could read the label. And I got fresh karai leaves (curry leaves!)

I finally got a piccie of the pre school netball (although the baskets and the ball suggest I have the wrong sport), but no smart red uniforms - perhaps that is a younger age group, or boys only. The girls waiting for their game saw me taking the photo and were amused. The exam times were all chalked on a blackboard by the gate. Apparently exams are over soon and then it's the summer holidays.

Music: Marc Riley and the Creepers: (I listen to The) Cure by choice, Get in your Citroen and Go, Location Bangladesh (and by the way I'm not going to try and catch the England tour, I'll stick to the IPL)
