Flash dilemma

I needed to drink the subject after taking a picture of this. When I was taking a picture my camera strap snagged on a drawer and my camera hit the floor with the flash open. Now the flash will not close and now it will not open or close properly. The camera still works fine, but I am nervous about the flash. Has this happened to anyone and is it worth fixing? I rarely use the flash and have an external that I use regularly.
