Expressing... saturation?

I downloaded Ken Rockwell's guide application for Nikon D90 users on my iPhone and have browsed it on several occasions. He sounds like a young and busy professional. For instance he advocates using only the matrix light metering and dismisses center-weighted and spot metering as a "leftover for old-timers".

Sometimes the advice he gives is too forceful and self-assertive. For certain adjustments "absolutely essential" and "never use this" are often the only options for him. There are a lot of tips, though, in a concise and easily understandable form.

Therefore I wanted to try his idea of tweaking the white balance while shooting, so no Photoshop or other processing would be necessary afterwards in this respect.

This shot has approximately the white balance (and colour!) setting that he gives as an example to make the image more interesting, so that it will correspond to his idea/the photographer's idea of the image.

I'm a bit too much of a naturalist to use such radical settings all the time when shooting, but the experiment makes a nice change in my sequence of blips.
