In the camp at Erg Chegaga Dunes

Our home for the next 2 days. Zaid is managing the place and the perfect host. We learned that we would be the only guests for this night, with some more people arriving the next day. Considering being in a desert environment, the Camp was very comfortable. The guests sleeping in the small brown tents, the large tent reserved for meals.
Here the exact location on a satellite picture (even the single tents are visible).

Driving from M'hamid to the camp took around 3 hours, all in 4-wheel country as the paved road finishes right after the village. As always the desert is not just a desert, but a series of changing landscapes, with different shapes, colours and a bit of vegetation.

We enjoyed the
- quietness of the place,
- climbing a dune and watch the sunset,
- lovely dinner (a traditional tagine with meat) and
- later in the evening to lay on the carpets and to watch thousands of stars and the milky way in absolute silence and being undisturbed by other light sources.
