Sigiriya

Impressive Sigiriya Rock, an important but inconclusive site in Sri Lankan history.

On the top there is evidence of past civilisations and on the surrounding plains evidence of agriculture and other infrastructure.

Something that sticks in the memory are the many signs warning against hornet attacks, and urging visitors to be quiet.

These visitors were not so lucky.
