Would you kindly enter and exit through the gate

Wonderful scenery around Ilam Hall where we were walking, including seeing Jacob's Ladder, Ilam Rock, Lovers' Leap and the Srepping Stones.

Not sure this gate is strictly necessary to be honest but it raises a number of questions to feed the imagination.
