William Whitehead - Killed in Action 1914-1918 War

Great Uncle William died in action, at the age of 20. He is part of the Tyne Cot Memorial. Here is a shot of the medal he never saw, fighting for our freedom. God bless him and all of the fallen.

At the age of 14 he was a pit pony driver. He was born at Wombwell near Barnsley, South Yorkshire in 1897. Any more information on Great Uncle William will be very much appreciated.
