Flower girl

It had to be done. Various cupboards have been taunting me, begging to be sorted and tidied. So today has been one of domestic competition, me versus cupboards. Happy to report that by teatime it was victory for me, cupboards conquered, large bin bag filled with unwanted discards.

The battle would not have made a pretty blip, so instead here is the calming sight that accompanied my late afternoon cup of coffee as daylight ebbed outside the windows.

This little flower girl is a favourite table lamp bought when we first moved to this house, shortly after our son was born. This week, he and his wife move house from the London suburbs to a new home in the country. With cupboards that await filling, no doubt!
