The 'Old' Bill.
Not a good night on the motorways.
Left home at just before 5 this afternoon,on my way to Waltham Abbey, a journey which should have taken 3.5 hours.
Tom Tom had already re-directed me due to an incident on the M1 which was to save me 15 mins.
Instead of which I ended up virtually stationary on the M40 for 1.5 hours while they cleared an accident which had blocked the outside two lanes.
When I finally got past, it didn't look too serious, but people had clearly been hurt as there were a number of ambulances around.
It's a good job I had a good book with me. Audible, I hasten to add.
Finally arrived just after 10pm.
And the Blip? There must have been a classic car rally somewhere up north judging by the number of 50's, 60's and 70's cars I passed.
And whilst stuck in the traffic, there was this old Rover 3500, ex-police car, just in front. How tempted must he have been to activate the blues & twos and chased up the hard shoulder?
Couldn't resist the blip.
