Intentionality

As family and friends gathered one last time, to say farewell to the most precious little London, and share stories of love and encouragement, I was most struck by how often I heard the phrase, "loving intentionally", "we love intentionally" and "he chose to love us, intentionally". The stories we heard on our journey this weekend, were those of the beautiful young people who gave of themselves, abundantly, to care for London while his daddy fought back against an MS-like attack on his body, and his mom tried to be in two places at once and learn how to cope.

Due to London's autism, everyone learned what it was to love with intention, and to be patient while London would decide if he would let them in. In this process was found grace and joy. Everyone learned what it was to be chosen and accepted, and how to let go when he needed a break. I have rarely, in my entire life, seen such a group of people lay down their lives so patiently and with so much love. I am so grateful for every one of them, and for the faith they hold in their hearts, and the love they give, intentionally.
