Sunset Walks
We had to pack all our bags and repack the car this morning as we are changing b and B's today. So, after our full English breakfast, the mad dash to pack began!
Once we'd loaded the car, we wandered around the shops in Windermere and Rory bought a couple of Christmas presents. Windermere has some really cute shops!
We headed to Ambleside, as Rory's Dad had told him about a walk to do near there. Before we headed to do the walk, we went for a wander around the shops. Ambleside is the place to be when you're staying in the lakes!
We grabbed lunch, ate it in the car and then headed to Rydal to do the walk. There are a couple of caves at the start of the walk which are incredibly! They're absolutely massive! It was really cool walking about the inside of the cave, we spent quite a while making the cave echo!
The walk was slightly improvised by Rory, but the views from the top were incredible! By the time we reached the top, the sun was beginning to set and we ended up getting some spectacular views and photos....this was my favourite of the day! We headed back down, trying to make it down before it got dark, and headed back to Ambleside.
It turns out that it was the switching on of the Christmas lights in Ambleside, so we were stopped by the police and told to pull over and watch as we wouldn't be able to get through the town until the parade passed. The parade was quite weird, but kinda cool.
After quite a large hiccup, we headed to our new b and b for the night, however, we didn't have Internet on either phone so didn't know exactly where we were going. Thanks to Rory's Dad, we got there relatively easily without getting lost!
Once we checked in, we headed out to a local pub to have dinner, which was yummy! We were one of only two parties in the restaurant which was nice! We headed back to the b and b and spent the night curled up in the world's comfiest bed watching TV.
