I decided to try public transport as an alternative to the long drive to the hospital.I got to the station early to renew my railcard but their system was down so I had to buy my ticket on the train. The guard very kindly gave me the railcard discount as it wasn't my fault, I hadn't expected that.
I changed at Shrewsbury where I took my blip - not many stations stand in the shadow of a castle!
I caught another train to Wellington then a bus to the hospital, a very long winded journey!
When I got there Mum had been transferred from the acute to the rehabilitation stroke ward, great news! When I got there she had another visitor - the minister from her chapel who kindly gave me a lift home. I was very grateful!
