Rosslyn Chapel

Today was a rare treat. A visit to Rosslyn Castle, just south of Edinburgh, with good friends. I don't know what I expected - perhaps a bit skeptical of all the Hollywood hype and the mysticism of the Dan Brown "Da Vinci Code" .... but the chapel is wonderful, amazing. The stone carvings are intricate and full of symbolism. There are undoubtedly hidden stories in the carvings - stories of biblical events and ancient parables - and even without this, a wonderful work of art. Well worth a visit!
