we missed the sunshine's brief appearance during lunch time - ensconced inside filling our bellies. No matter, Em and I decided it was a good afternoon to familiarise ourselves with a nearby woods. Stepping through the kissing gate, down the rocks and into the mossy clearing we started to spot all kinds of interesting things. Families of sulphur yellow fungi, hollowed out tree - fairy homes, pocked limestone boulders supporting thriving moss cities. Em was in her element, leading the way with her trusted staff pulled from the ground just moments earlier. It was late in the day so the light was failing, we did not wonder far, promising ourselves a return visit on a brighter day. Pleased to say no sightings of giant attercops.
