Me and My Baby Seal!

I am writing this while cruising on the Interislander!

Was going to blip a scenic shot of the Tory Channel, but this morning while driving from Kaikoura to Picton I stopped at the Ohau seal colony and walked up the track to see if there were any babies playing under the waterfall.
There was and I was mesmerised by this little sweetheart , she was all by herself in a small pool and I sat for ages talking and watching her, she was so playful..... Just amazing to see these babies.

The mums take them out of the sea in the morning and leave them up in the waterfall pool while they (mum) goes back out to sea to feed. Before witnessing this I had no idea that seals liked fresh water and could scramble over the bush ground up to the pools .

We have stopped often over the years to see them but today was quite special as I had this baby all to myself!
