The Light Fantastic

taiko sharing night was, as ever, rather wonderful. Not necessarily the first piece we played, which we might possibly have been able to pass off as discordant jazz taiko or something. Got better, and especially when the Dojo members took to the stage. Most interesting moment was joining in with a piece I've never played (but have heard quite a lot) - it's amazing just how much you can pick up over four minutes watching those around you. Oh, and personal highlight was getting to play 'miyaki style', which apparently looked nae bad (there should be video to come and prove / disprove that notion), as well as the salted caramel and French buttercream, and raspberry and lime, macaroons going down quite well. 2 months till the next course starts... Thanks as ever to Paddy especially for teaching us, Lisa for being there while not on tour, Lizzie for a stand in, Stella and Ken and Linda for helping us along, and great to see Fi again (who taught our very first course) who has been away from Taiko for two years but slotted back in fantastically.
