Let the Sun Shine!
Last week work began on our home solar power installation. We decided to take advantage of government subsidy via tax credits before the program expires. My husband, who is quite a researcher, attended a local information meeting and then contacted the company he thinks has the best credentials and experience in our area. They had discussions about the ideal location for the equipment, which turned out to be on the roof of our two story home. The whole process is so scientific, involving use of GPS to map out the sun exposure we receive 365 days a year. That determines the location with the most direct sun exposure, and thus the most efficiency. An inspector from the utility came on Monday and approved the project, and we were just waiting for the official OK to turn on the system. We received the e-mail today, and flicked the switch on together. If nothing else, this should be a selling point if ever we decide to move.
