West Pier Brighton

The pier was built in 1866 but was closed in 1975 as it needed renovation work. There have been two huge fires and lots of storm damage and as result this is all that remains. People often ask why it isn't just removed but us locals feel it is iconic and part of our history. It remains one of only two grade 1 listed piers in the UK.
