Who knew that walking sticks are so trendy?

You can have a stick for every occasion if you go to this shop in Hexham. It's double fronted: in one window there are all things pipe and tobacco related; in the other there are jars of old fashioned sweeties. I wonder how long the shop will remain?

My day was busy. I went to Hexham for hair cut (Mum thinks it's too short!), then shopped a bit, then had lunch with the other Marjorie (great conversation about art and photography and many profound things!), then a meeting in Allendale with the North Pennines AONB about our respective walking festivals. Maureen came to that too and we had a good, useful conversation.
Then there was food shopping.

I've spent the evening with Guy and Margret. Guy was very poorly and restless tonight but is now sleeping peacefully.
