Buzzard

My best photo of the day - best photo of a bird for many months was this Buzzard which initially Darkpeakbirder spotted in a tree.

The bird dropped down onto a wall and let us get a little closer but not very close before gliding down the valley to Arnfield Reservoir area.

We enjoyed a longer walk than usual in good conditions and found a footpath we had never used across the fields to the Devils's Bridge end of Swallow Woods. We hardly saw anyone and it was so quiet and peaceful it was like a tonic. Around 200 Fieldfare were nervously moving from field to field tree top to tree top with very few calls. Around 70 Pink Footed Geese went over heading SE in the classic V formation - they had much more to say for themselves :-)
