Derelict Hartwood Hospital

Hartwood Hospital in Lanarkshire, Scotland was once Europe's largest mental asylum. Opened in the last decade of the 1890's it served the local population for approx 100 years before it closed. It has fallen into disrepair due to a fire and vandalism and so now the site is surrounded by a large fence making it almost impossible to gain access. I was able to point my camera thro the fence to try and get some images without the fence. I also took some images from further back showing the building in its surrounding countryside
