Light and tide.
This is one of my favourite views of the Solway Firth when the tide is out because the patterns of the mudflats are always different every time I come to have a look. The lighting conditions make a huge difference as well and you can see quite a variety of birds, including wading birds. I have said this before but I am fascinated by the fact that the mudflats are beautiful to look at, but are so dangerous to humans.
