The day started with terrible news that a friend in Melbourne passed away age 44 after a relatively short cancer battle. Jason was a lovely person, I met him and his partner John in Melbourne through my touring some years back and we have kept in touch ever since and met for lunch last summer when they were travelling, he really loved making things and made us loads of monkey fists (knots/vid here) and then sent Gulli a book on them from Oz, Rip my friend, so very sad xxx

Smithfield Market is just round the corner from the studio I was working in today, I was a bit early so went for a wander…

A productive day writing a song for Kristina with her and Kai, shaping up very nicely, they are both very talented.
