"MR. PICKWICK UNDERGOES A TRYING EXPERIENCE"

At the bric-a-brac shop where I got the old fashioned rotary dial phone I also picked up a very old-looking copy of Charles Dickens' Pickwick Papers. Ann spotted it there at the weekend and mentioned that she quite liked it, so I treated her to an early Christmas present.

I love that the illustrations are loose leaves, pasted onto blank pages amongst the text, and with tracing paper overlays with captions. They don't make books like that any more.
