Let us kneel....

After several hours of paperwork on a grey and gloomy day decided to go for a random drive to look for a blip. Ended up following some signs to Shotley church which was unusually bright inside with this impressive array of decorated kneelers. Looking around the graveyard outside found a large number of naval headstones including a monument to a couple of submarine flotillas from the first world war. There are also a lot of graves for "Boys" which was an official naval rank. Part of the churchyard was used by HMS Ganges, a naval training school, to bury anyone who was killed and weren't claimed by their parents. More details can be found here and here
