Fat cat on a mat

A momentous occasion this evening.

I have read to the children at bedtime every night since they were teeny. Tonight, as usual, Dylan asked me to read out the titles of the stories in this book so he could pick. I asked if he'd try and sound them out. He did! He read all of the titles by himself :) this is momentous as while I've known for a while he could read, he refuses to read more than the odd word here and there for me and so I don't push it.

Very proud. He's getting better at blending sounds rather than just guessing or memorising the words. Won't be long til he's reading to his sister <3
