Amlwch Port #Anglesey

Up early and off to Amlwch to take the car in to have the central locking repaired.

Three hours to waste so walked down to the Port. I had a coffee at The Quay Cafe that I visited last week. A few more pieces of information regarding the SS Rostrevor, ... lost in a gale 28 miles north of Amlwch on 19 May 1917 ... she is the ship which my grandfather had served on in 1907. Had a phone chat with our Sailor who is also doing some research on our ancestor.

The weather was glorious, sunny and warm - hard to believe it's really November!! It turned very cold around 2 o'clock this afternoon though.

If you look closely at today's blip you'll see the metal ladders which are used to access the boats. These ladders were installed many years ago by MrD and El_P (he of the garden makeover two years ago. It wasn't a very nice job and they worked there in the dark and all weather :-(((
