Gatehouse

This is the Gatehouse entryway to the Royal Victoria Hospital grounds. I have been under here many a time as a visitor to patients and when the Inverleith Unit was open. And for a walk along the trees. It's a place that has a lot of Blip potential, but would prefer some company as many of the buildings are not used anymore and would feel awkward about noseying about for Blips ;-) if you know what I mean?

I believe more plans have been made about what is going to happen with the hospital and grounds. Hope the Gatehouse and the Admin Block stay both B listed, the other gatehouse has been empty for many years but has been vandalised and stripped that it probably would have to be demolished.

"The east lodge, was built and opened in 1907. It is a unique cantilevered structure with an internal winding staircase to the porters apartments. In the sitting room of the house was a large wheel which operated the two large doors which can still be seen but are no longer in use."

Dithered about mono or colour but the trees still have a little colour. Mono another day.
