Adapazari Earthquake Museum
A very moving and disturbing museum which tells the story of the devastating earthquake which hit the area in 1999. This is a scale model of the town and the surrounding area, with a little perspex mini-monument with the details written on of every person killed that night.
Out host teacher, Emine, and her family ended up living in a tent for over a year until something was done to rehouse them. They spent a horrendously cold winter under canvas.
