Alfred JJ Whiston, the middle of 3 Whiston brothers who went to war.

A son, a brother, a husband, a father.

One of many who gave their lives so that the world could do something with peace.

Today I made my third visit to his graveside to pay my respects. Since my last visit his headstone has been renewed with a clean cut marble one. He has not been forgotten.

During the remainder of the day I have toured Flanders fields and attended this evening's Last Post at the Menin Gate in Ypres.

Tomorrow I will visit Tyne Cot and Passchendaele.
