Alas My Poor Brother.

Bovril Johnstone's, R.I.P.

The frontage of the coffee shop has now been completely removed and the establishment is being converted into living quarters. The line, "Alas My Poor Brother" comes from an advert, it is spoken by a bull looking wistfully at a jar of Bovril.

I know nothing of Hay's Cash Emporium, it ceased trading long before we moved into the village but part of "The Original Rosslyn Inn" is built on the site of a garage that I think was also owned by the Hays family. I'll have to check up.
