The circus is in town

Apologies for the poor photo but it's the only one I took today.

This is the view from the back of the room at the Scottish Politician of the Year Awards. It was an interesting and enjoyable event. I enjoyed the company at my table (thanks to UWS for the invitation), the food was excellent and the awards were...well they were awards. There was an emotional standing ovation for Gordon Aikman the young political campaigner suffering from MND, for his charitable campaign.

It was also remarkably civilised, despite the surprisingly small percentage of women there. And no one set the curtains alight, but I didn't stay till the very end.
