Whale Watching

I haven't put a pic on here for a while.. We've been terribly busy getting our new apartment set up.. I took this when we were in Australia. We went to a place called Hervey Bay and went whale watching. It was a totally amazing day. We followed one whale for about an hour and it just kept breaching. Over and over.. The captain of the boat said it was unheard of. After a while, it joined up with a mother and calf. The mother was teaching the calf to breach and so we got another show. They headed too far out to see so we went back into the bay and caught up with two mothers and two calves.

Interesting facts learned today. A mother has to produce 600 litres of milk a week for the calf and the calf puts on 4kg an hour.
