Still standing Strong.

This is the tower of the entrance to the grounds of The Royal Hospital in Kilmainham.
It was built almost 300 years ago as a home for retired soldiers and is a magnificent building, well worth a visit if you're in Dublin. It is now home to the Irish Art Museum and is also a major concert venue. I was there at a memorable outdoor Leonard Cohen concert with my eldest daughter a few years ago. Magic.
As you can see, it's still raining.
I was back at the hospital for a six month follow up appointment and got more or less a clean bill of health apart from a few slaps on the wrist about my lifestyle. Feck them, I'm happy.
So, seeing as I am officially healthy, I decided to walk in the rain through Old Kilmainham and Mount Brown and take the long way around to the bus. It is a lovely old part of the city and I got loads of shots, most of which were spoiled by raindrops on the lens.
This one was taken after a pint in the Patriot's Inn. I had given the camera a good cleaning.

I was delighted to hit the spotlight yesterday. The previous two times that happened was on significant blipdays. This is the first one that seems to be just for the photo, so I'm chuffed.

Thank you all for helping me to get there.
