Hickory Nuts

I spent some time today ( a beautiful fall day here in South Carolina) raking..and raking..and raking. The two hickory nut trees at the side of our yard have spit all the nuts ( well, the ones the squirrels didn't get) down to the ground and as it was really cold a few days, the trees have shivered and shook all the leaves that couldn't hang down with the nuts and shells. Fortunately, all the nuts are on the ground..unfortunately, there are still a gazillion leaves hanging on.
