the sleepy pigeon

This was a photo that surprised me more than anything. I was in the centre of a town in northern Portugal and as with almost all town squares there were pigeons everywhere pecking at scraps and crumbs on the floor. But then, when walking past a stall a saw this exquisitely plump and almost majestic pigeon that unlike the others frantically pecking at bits of nothing on the ground had decided to take an afternoon nap.
