We left home fairly early this morning to drive up to the airport for our flight to Madrid and then onto Gran Canaria. As opposed to England, where there are numerous direct flights to the Canaries, there are very few direct flights from France, since they are not a popular holiday destination for the French. We had about a four hour layover in Madrid, so all in all we spent most of the day traveling. The sun was setting as we landed in Las Palmas, and by the time we had collected our luggage and picked up our rental car, it was already dark by the time we left the airport. So my blip is taken from our hotel balcony, overlooking the marina at Puerto Rico.
