Interval

I was in town for Oxford's LightNight. Very different from last year and the year before. There was no children's lantern procession, no central luminous installation in the dark to draw people in, no real heart.

There were busy, late-night activities in the museums - one with an impossible queue - with ice or light installations outside. An open evening for museums is excellent in itself but I really missed the communal gathering in the darkness in awe of the creative things we do to lighten it. In Gloucester Green there were some quarter-hearted braziers with barely-used seats around. The friends I bumped into there decided to head off to the cinema. There was also a feedback stall. I fed back.

I took some pictures but they too lacked heart. This one is nothing to do with the Event.

I hope it's better next year.
