Da Last Bird...

at least for this trip.

Our bags are packed, and the van is loaded. All we have to do is load up our small cooler in the morning. All systems are go.

I took the clown bike out to the nature preserve this morning. It's not a long ride (only 3 miles), but it's a little tough because you travel on crushed sea shells.

I love the looks of the yellow crowned night heron (especially the eyes), but it's not the brightest of the shore birds. In the 25 minutes I stayed by him (only 10 feet away), he moved only 2 or 3 times. And then...only to scratch.

"C'mon do something!! Stretch, talk, fly, fish...anything!!" Nothing except this blank look. If the bird could talk, I think he would say..."Duh."

Weather-wise, our last day was kind of blah. Not much sun was seen in the Sunshine state.

I will catch up to journals when I get home. A long way to travel. 1,256 miles according to Google maps.

A couple more shots are on my FLICKR PAGE. It was a slow news picture taking day.
