This quote is really symbolic of the day today.

Tomorrow is the launch of the Creative Apprenticeship so today was a day of rehearsals and ensuring everything was ready (as best as can be) for tomorrow. However, normal life still needed to continue so classes at the college were still going on as normal. Except for the wonderful planning on Michael's end of arranging the performing arts students to have a technical workshop at the Grand Theater with the Hobbit crew and then even getting tickets for the students to see the show afterwards. Even better, as Michael was so busy, I was able to step in and go with his class. It was absolutely brilliant seeing the 'behind' the scenes aspect of the theater and the Hobbit production. I was in awe to say the least and the pupils absolutely loved it.

Afterwards is when the work began for me. I was Head Gofer for the day which suited me fine. I was aware that one studio wasn't ready as the builders were still working so was fully prepared to be cleaning and mopping today. However, instead I had an afternoon of watching fantastic rehearsals in the Civic center and Slades Room and seeing the creative process working (everything from technical sounds/lighting to tweeking of songs/performances).

And then came the shifting of furniture, building bookcases and everything down to putting flowers in the vases. But there was a team of us that pulled it all together and got everything ready for tomorrow's big launch. So the golden ring was ours tonight. Hope we retain it for tomorrow.
