Cranes

Like the migration of storks is a sign that summer is finished, so the arrival of the cranes marks the start of winter. Or so we like to think!

At any rate it's an exciting sound to hear over the Estuary as a flock of about twenty flew past us, heading south. Difficult to capture in a photograph really. At the same time, I was listening to the call of curlews and watching another little flock of lapwings flapping past. Nature on the move...
