Under the freeway

Brisbane has a great network of riverside bike / pedestrian paths, usually these are quite scenic but on the North Bank in the CBD they run underneath the freeway ... its a real contrast going from bright sub-tropical light into the dank darkness of this noisy underworld. I find this view with all the pillars reminds me of "The Lord of the Rings" films when they are in the mines of Moria. Anyway I think it makes an interesting shot - its really an example of how not to do riverfront development. Don't get me wrong though there are plenty places in this city where the riverfront is done well - the North Bank in the CBD is just not one.
