Sashiko ...

I couldn't wait to make a start on the kit I bought yesterday.
So, while the house around me is in chaos - shopping to be put away, ironing to be done and a floor that desperately needs mopping - I am sewing a little piece of 'tranquility' in the shape of a "Moonlight" Sashiko panel.

I have always like this style of Japanese stitching even before I knew what it was called. I haven't reached the hand stitching part so I'm not sure how I will manage that yet. It looks simple but I could be very wrong about that.
