Chrysanthemum

A very fine pair.

Photographed today at Haworth’s second annual Steam Punk Weekend in aid of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. Steam Punk, it appears, involves dressing up in some fairly extreme artistic and rather eccentric styles, a kind of Victorian Romanticism very similar to Goth, originating in the fashions and subcultures inspired by the industrialisation of Western civilisation during the 19th Century. The style is reminiscent of an age when everything was not mass produced but made by skilled artisans and each crafter put their own unique look and style into a piece. Steam Punk itself is a sub-genre of science fiction featuring the early inventions of steam powered machinery. All in all, the event was a fascinating and photogenic experience, made even better by meeting up with the lovely Loveslupins17, making it a mini Blipmeet. Missed fotojunci and Majikat though, but the event is still on tomorrow so might catch up with them if they return for a second visit.
