Peonies and Giraffes

This is No. 34 Kea Parrot Stay by Artist Alejandra Diaz. Here is Fridays blip that will link you to the other 'Stands Tall' arts project of Giant fibreglass Giraffe sculptures on the streets of Christchurch this summer.

I took a drive to Mona Vale gardens this afternoon to get a shot of Kea Parrot Stay. I think it would have been better to get her on a dull day as she would show up better. With all the wind and heat of the last few days the poor Peonies were flatten. They must have made such a show before. Today is much cooler with only 16c and a cold strong wind blowing once again.

Over night it has been report that Cloud Gazer the Giraffe sculpture who was located in Sumner was very badly attacked! They have remove him and assess what we can do to get him back out. It is amazing the brokenness of people that they do this sort of thing... On a more positive note the clever team at Stealthmode Carbon have repaired Giraffe Crossing and Space Wild so the artists will be working on them this week to get them out soon. I haven't got those ones so hope all can be back in place soon!
