'Nigella the Brave'
After a busy Saturday with library, farm shop visit and cooking for my son Simon home for the weekend..I suddenly realised I didn't have a Blip for today. I did the same as fellow blipper Pixelfoto's and went into the garden to see what I could find. The light was going fast...but I was amazed to find this little 'Love-in-a-Mist' ..Nigella bravely flowering away among the weeds (must do something about them!} and fallen leaves.
I then had a quiet hour starting a new Barbara Erskine book 'The Darkest Hour'...
'In the summer of 1940 most eyes are focussed on the skies above. The battle for Britain has just begun, but talented artist Evie Lucas has eyes for no-one but a dashing young pilot called 'Tony' and spends her days sketching endless portraits of him.
Seventy years later, recently widowed art historian Lucy is trying to put the pieces of her life back together. But when she accidentally ends up stirring up a hornet's nest of history which has been deliberately obliterated, Lucy finds herself in danger from people past and present who have no intention of letting an untold truth ever surface...'
This book is set in Chichester, East Sussex ..Tangmere airfield and hopefully other local places as it unfolds A very lucky find at the library today!! I will have to make sure I finish this one!
