Party, party, party, party, party!
How strange that on a cool day in November Mr hazelh and I experience flashbacks to Festival time in August. After lunch we spent the rest of the day dashing across town from "venue" to "venue":
13:30-14:00: Walk to S's house for a jewellery party
15:00-15:30: Bubbles quaffed and jewels purchased, walk back home again
15:30-15:45: Get changed for next event
15:45-16:30: Walk to Meadowbank stadium with Mr hazelh
16:30-18:00: Roller disco (gbees blipped Darcie zipping along the dancefloor)
18:00-18:30: Change into fancy dress then walk to the Safari Lounge
18:30-19:45: Help N celebrate her birthday at her "Dirty knees, all the threes" party
19:45-20:30: Walk to Ridgeback13's flat
20:30-23:00: Change out of fancy dress and join in the fun with Ridgeback's lovely friends, including ArcLight and Alfthomas
23:00-23:30: Walk to the Outhouse
23:30-00:15: Celebrate my colleague C's 40th birthday party at our last engagement of the day
00:15-00:30: Walk home and collapse into bed
All in all it was a great day. Along the way I met a lovely television presenter (who was mildly amused that I didn't recognise her even though she presents the national news), survived being sandwiched in a domino effect roller skating pile-up, enjoyed some lovely food (especially the afternoon "tea" at S's, and the most amazing dinner spread at Ridgeback13's), and chatted and chatted and chatted with lots of really interesting people wherever we went.
My only regret is that with all these commitments in Edinburgh we missed the engagement party of my second cousin Miss TBay (daughter of TBay) in Somerset. Perhaps I should ask for a helicopter for Christmas to avoid such disappointments in the future?
My blip is of C's scientific birthday cupcakes, which were iced along the lines of the knitted bacteria that I blipped on 17th October. The blue is listeria, the yellow herpes, and the grey kissing disease.
Oh, and in case you are wondering, our fancy dress was "a pair of thieves". We wore striped tops and black eye masks, and carried a swag bag.
Exercise today: 3.5+ hours of walking (includes running up to town for errands in the morning), plus 1.5 hours of roller skating.
