Topsy turvy morning
It was a busy morning at church today. The vicar was away, so our student and myself, the curate, were looking after the place. That could be nerve wracking on a good day, but when I heard the body hit the floor behind me as I read the gospel, I knew that it had just got much more complicated!
The poor lady had fainted, and so we went into first aid mode. At the same time, I still had a service to run, despite all the distractions. So sensitively, we all agreed to continue
We got there, but the student's sermon had to compete with the arrival of the paramedics. Not easy.
Almost as an aside, in the previous service, we lined up 40 of the 120 Wise Guys and then we individual blessed one each. It was lovely, and now they are ready to hit the shop windows and create fun and laughter .
PS: I spoke to the lady this afternoon, and she is doing fine.
