Tobar-a-bhaistidh

This is Tobar-a-bhaistidh , in English the "Baptism Well" which lies just below the ruins of Fearnoch Chapel about a mile and a half from our house.

It is in a beautiful, tranquil spot facing down to Loch Riddon and the Kyles of Bute. I had not been before but the local postman, Arthur French, who is also an expert on the eagles around here, has recently cleared a path to it for some walks he organised as part of Cowal Fest.

We got there between heavy showers but the tramp over the wet hillside was worth it.
