It is good to have a corridor of peace and tranquility that leads into the very heart of the city by a scenic route - including part of the Innocent Railway - so called because it was horse-drawn when it first opened in 1831, such was the fear of the steam engines at the outset of the railway age.

I listened to the end of the Duel in the Desert on the radio when we got home. Not sure that following BBC R5 Live commentary was entirely appropriate especially for a motor sport, as the excitement of Lewis Hamilton's second F1 Championship seemed to overwhelm everyone in Abu Dhabi resulting in the studio host in her excitement to say to Drink Champagne, Be Sick, Be Happy !

Listen responsibly!

As the sun sets, the log burning stove is lit and a relaxing evening begins before a very busy work week in prospect.
